| How does
the adjustable shelf feature work? Note: Adjustable shelf feature is patented and currently only available on ZipCabs products |
It's as simple as a Zipper --
Each ZipCabs shelving
system has vertical channels which allows our patentedYou determine where you want the shelf. You move the shelf support and shelf to desired location -- then tighten the screw to lock shelf in place. ZipCab clip assembly to slide up or down. The clip assembly grasps the shelf t o support and hold it in place. You can move the shelves to any location to accommodate height of whatever you're displaying. See clip and other features |
| How do I assemble it? | No assembly is needed—the unit is shipped with clip sets placed in approximate location read instructions here |
| How do I
lock shelves in place How do they mount on the wall? [can be set on counter] |
Just move each shelf's ZipCab clip into place and turn the
screw to lock. read instructions here We drill holes thru the back panel for you to place screws. The holes are drilled 16" apart on cabinets at least 21" wide. You may need plastic anchors or molly bolts if you can not mount on studs. See hanger rail.
|
| How many sizes do you make? |
Height: From 14 to 36" in 1/4" increments. Widths: 12", 15", 18", 21", 24", 27", and 30" Depths: of 3", 4", 5" or 6". Up to 12 adjustable shelves may be ordered for the tallest (36") unit. The possibilities are almost endless. From these combinations we can assemble over 900 sizes. With other options the possibilities are into the thousands. |
| Why not larger sizes? | We limit the size because
UPS and US Parcel Post have size limitations of items they will accept. |
| What is the difference between
a rack, a cabinet, and a case? Our quote request form shows these three styles to choose from: (rack, cabinet, case) |
A "rack" is open on the
top. A "cabinet" has a top shelf and crown molding across the top. A "case" is a cabinet with a removable Plexiglas front. The Plexiglas rests in a grove in the bottom shelf and is secured behind the crown molding on the top. It is removable by lifting it up and out of the frame. |
| How much more
expensive is a case? |
Plexiglas panel adds from $10.00 to $40.00 to price of the unit. |
| How much do you charge for
shipping & handling? Shipping charges are stated when ordering Standard Items |
We don't
charge a separate fee for handling — you pay only the cost of
shipping. We will calculate your shipping charges after you fill in your specifications and zip code on the quote request form (go here for standard items, and here for custom items). |
| What
determines shipping costs? |
Most items, except for the smaller ones, are rated by UPS or USPO on the amount of space they occupy — not the weight of the package. So we will need to calculate the package dimensions once you tell us the height, width & depth of the cabinet, rack, or case you're interested in. |
| Shipping time frame? | Shipping time can vary from a few days to a few weeks. Some special orders may take longer. We will let you know the scheduled delivery day when we ship your ZipCab. |
| Return policy? | If for any reason you are not completely satisfied, please return within 30 days for full refund of purchase price. |
| Tax? | We charge sales tax for orders shipped to Washington state. |
| Why isn't there a secure order form or shopping cart? |
We need only the most basic information when you order from this site (zip code and dimensions of the product), so there is no need for a secure order form or shopping cart. We will take your credit card number over the phone — please do not send it over email, as that can be risky. |
| Can I stack 2 units? I need taller units than you show... | We charge a small modification fee, but yes, we can make them stackable. |
| What are the options
for the back
panel? Is there a price difference? |
Oak plywood or white
melamine (hardboard). White melamine is less expensive and there is a cost savings because it is pre-finished when we receive it. |
| Why do most of the
cases have the white melamine back panel? |
This allows better light reflection — a wanted feature for most collectors. |
| What material is used
For the shelves? For the frame? |
This
depends on the width and
depth of the cabinet. Narrow units can be ordered with white melamine or oak plywood shelves. Units from 18" to 24" are normally 1/4" oak plywood. Units over 24" are built using 1/2" oak plywood. ZipCabs frames are solid oak. |
| Do all shelves have the safety lip? | Cases with Plexiglas front do not. All others do. |
| You have a picture of
a spice cabinet on a pantry door. What restrains the bottles? |
We custom
make these units with 1" high lip on each shelf. |
